Victoria's Secret 2009 Fashion Show, Part 2

The storied Lexington Armory in New York City played host to the 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. You might think between this post and part one we would have covered all we wanted to; just not possible. I actually removed a few pictures from this post to save for the future. Picking up where we left off on Wednesday, more from the show, broken down by the themed segments, starting with:

PINK Planet


PINK Angel Behati Prinsloo says hello and starts off the segment that was just plain fun.


Australian Abbey Lee Kershaw's yellow PINK panties (it all makes sense) asked for attention, and succeeded in getting it.


Both my girlfriend and I got the impression Ms. Kershaw had a bit more of a role in this year's show, which we thought added value.


Elyse Taylor seemed to have a pre-designed wardrobe.. function(?) to show off more of her pink PINK panties as she got further down the runway

Out of all the ensembles in this section, I liked Miranda Kerr's the most. And it gives you one great excuse to drop that old line, 'Excuse me, Miss, do you have the time?'



My girlfriend was torn between Miranda Kerr's outfit and this vision in green worn by Philadelphia's Sessilee Lopez. Did I mention my girlfriend is tall (5'8.5")? And she likes boots. And she now wants Ms. Lopez's(5' 10") boots. I'm all for it, if they come with the matching bra and panties, and we'll skip the jewelry.


Lindsay Ellingson has the answer to your Red Riding Hood fetish - and the 'keeping the wolves at bay' may be a cliche, but if she's undressed like this, it still works.


Australian Abbey Lee Kershaw's outfit seemed.. 'Pheasant-y'?.



My girlfriend and I especially liked some of the print designs in this segment, like the above bra and thong bikini panties worn by Tatiana Kovylina.



The amazing I-just-had-a-baby-weeks-ago - Again! - Heidi Klum served as host once more, and made a bit more than a cameo appearance on the runway. Missing from the show, but for the same very great reasons, Adriana Lima and Karolína Kurková gave birth to a baby girl and boy, repsectively, shortly before the show's actual date of filming November 19th at the Armory in New York City (Ms. Kurvova October 29th; Ms. Lima November 16, each joining the ranks of VSMs - more on each in future fufL posts).

Maryna Linchuk of Belarus looks like a sun goddess. If she'd been around ages ago, we could have blamed her for melting Icarus' wings..


To be clear, we're both fans of Ms. Ebanks, but I like this a bit better than my girlfriend, who asked if she was was going fly fishing in that vest. Can you guess what one of my girlfriend's Dad's hobbies may be..?

Say hello to Kylie Biscutti. The only part of the show my girlfriend and I weren't too crazy about was how they handled the competition to choose a new 'Runway Angel'. ('Angel Boot Camp'? Really?) Especially after the girl we both originally voted for on-line was eliminated almost immediately. The whole 'reality show-within-the-fashion-show' was a bit of a turn-off for us. We weren't going to bother to cast another vote, but decided to anyway. No offense to runner-up Jaimeelee Darley, but we both chose Kylie. It was something about her.. eyes - believe it or not - that we liked, and her slightly unpolished demeanor. Here's hoping she really gets a chance to do more with Vicky's.

It would have been nice to include all 35 or so models who appeared in this year's show, but all good things must come to an end - even if the framing on the CBS broadcast version of the show didn't clue you in to the full (or less than full) extent of Miranda Kerr's last bra and panties set - but it's a fitting, and certainly fit end:
